Including some of the best loved breeds, 2016 sees the introduction of a number of cross breeds which have gained in popularity over recent years. The Labradoodle is available in Chocolate and Cream. The term Labradoodle was first used in 1955 when a Labrador was crossed with a Toy Poodle to produce a dog which didn’t moult and was considered to be more allergen-free but highly trainable. This made them popular Guide Dogs and great pets. The Cockapoo, also available as John Beswick figurines in Chocolate and Cream, is another hybrid dog which has been warmly received. First bred in the 1960s the Cockapoo is a friendly, easily trainable affectionate dog with the additional benefit of also being more allergen-free than other breeds. Created through a cross between a Cocker Spaniel and Poodle this small breed dog enjoys a long life of up to 18 years and is a cute as a button. For breeders and owners of pure breeds the John Beswick Dog Collection includes the best loved breeds including Cocker Spaniels, Labradors, Staffordshire Bull Terriers and small breeds such as Yorkshire Terriers, Pugs and Chihuahuas. Always looking to extend the range John Beswick have introduced two new breeds of dogs to the collection in the second half of 2016. The Bulldog is available in Brindle or Fawn and the Border Collie is presented in Black and White as well as Tricolour. For the cat lovers the John Beswick Long haired and short haired cats strike familiar poses and remember, you live in the cat’s house by their consent so whether it is a British Short Hair or Regal Persian they call the shots. New to 2017 sees more dogs added to the popular breeds range. Dachshund, French Bulldogs, Shih Tzu and Staffordshire Bull Terriers are all available in two colour variations.
