Royal Doulton Charlene Mullen
Charlene Mullen is a Housewares designer based in London with a special interest in fabrics and embroidery. She joined Royal Doulton in 2014 to create a tableware collection which showcased her design style. The Charlene Mullen collection was originally divided into two designs. The main range was Foulard Star which was accented by the London Calling design. A Foulard is a scarf or tie usually made of silk which has a repeat design of small motifs. Drawing from her experience with textiles she replicated the Foulard design using a star and line pattern. What lifts Foulard Star away from the ordinary is that one star is red as on the rim of the Dinner Plate. Charlene believed there should surprises and fun with her design and the Foulard Star Mugs had another secret inside the rim, red silhouettes of a Cockerel, Fox, Raven or Swan. In 2016 The Foulard Star design was retired from the range leaving the London Calling range as the main collection. The London Calling range captures familiar skylines from the Capital. The London Eye, Tower Bridge, The Gherkin and London Bridge are all included on mugs and Sets of Four London Calling 20cm Plates
. The Royal Doulton Charlene Mullen Collection also includes platters and Serving bowls in the London Calling design. Whether you live in the capital or not, this collection brings interest and surprise to the table. Perfect for entertaining Charlene Mullen tableware is dishwasher and microwave safe making it ideal for everyday use as well.
