Royal Albert Rose Confetti
Part of the New Country Roses Collection by Royal Albert, Rose Confetti is based on chintz patterns popular in the early 20th century. Chintz originally referred to the glazed calico fabrics from India which were highly decorated with a repeat pattern of floral designs. Dating back as far as the 1600s, chintz has many periods of popularity and each era brings a new interpretation. By the 20th century Chintz was traditionally decorated with British flower motifs and epitomised country living and the rural idle. Rose Confetti stays true to the concept of Chintz decoration as each piece is decorated with a cascade of stylised rose blooms, buds and foliage to create an explosion of colour and design. Pinks, greens and lilacs combine to create a soft feminine feel to this delightful collection. Set against a white background additional interest is added with a soft pink background applied to the outside of some pieces to inject some serenity into this riotous collection of colour. Rose Confetti is a complete dinner service with three sizes of plates, soup bowl and serving pieces. It also makes a charming tea services, with two sizes of cups and saucers. The Espresso Cup’s exterior is covered in the chintz design with a plain white interior and pink saucer. The Teacup flips this decoration on its head with a plain soft pink exterior to the cup and the interior fully decorated with the confetti like pattern. Beautiful on it’s own. it can also be mixed with
