Vera Wang
Vera Wang born 1949 in America is of Chinese decent. Although known the world over for her fashion design, in particular wedding gowns, Vera Wang first came to the public’s attention as a figure skater. When she failed to make the 1968 US Olympic Skating team she entered the fashion Industry working for Vogue, and Ralph Lauren. Still interested in skating she designed the costumes for 1994 Olympic team but it was as a wedding dress designer that she is now best known. Vera Wang joined Wedgwood to add her trademark glamour to a collection of tableware, crystal glass and gifts. Many of her patterns are reminiscent of the fine beadwork decoration on her gowns. Vera Wang’s
Vera Wang Blanc Sur Blanc is an example of Vera’s continuing experiment with white design proving the combination of different whites can add depth and texture.
Vera Wang Grosgrain mimics the stylish detailing associated with Vera Wang designs. A simple border of platinum detail is reminiscent of delicate lace.
Vera Wang Infinity is a continuous platinum band and bow decoration symbolising everlasting love.
Lace Gold and
Lace Platinum recreate the delicate lace work so important to Vera’s Wedding Gowns.
Organza was inspired by the billowing layers of white silk organza fabric often used in her luxurious creations which grace so many international cat walks. Vera Wang has also created a selection of giftware including
Love Knots,
With Love,
With Love Noir and
With Love Treasures. 2016 sees a number of new patterns added to the Vera Wang ranges. Combining the traditional partnership of White and Gold
Vera Wang Swirl is then bought into the 21st century with the application of decoration inline with today's modern aesthetic. This beautifully detailed pattern will retain its appeal for decades to come. Following the phenomenal success of Vera Wang's Best Selling Grosgrain pattern,
Grosgrain Indigo offers an on-trend colour variation. Pure white fine bone china is decorated with indigo concentric circles and Swiss dot pattern. For ultimate luxury inner and outer borders of opulent platinum are added to enrich the design. Understated, subtle and elegant, Vera Wang Grosgrain Indigo is destined to be as sought after as the original Grosgrain pattern. The ever popular Vera Wang With Love Range of giftware also sees a new pattern introduced in 2016.
Love Nouveau is available in silver plate or silver plate with pearl detailing. Offering great ideas for weddings, the range includes toasting flutes, Cake Knives, Keepsake Boxes and 3 sizes of photo frame in both styles. Each piece is decorated with a border of interlocking rings to symbolise everlasting love and commitment. The partnership between Vera Wang and Wedgwood goes from strength to strength with several new patterns added to the Vera Wang Collections in 2017.
Vera Wang Castillon is a contemporary concept with a distinctive understated design of asymmetrical colour blocking ideal for the modernist home. Combining muted grey and opulent gold, Castillon is ideal for entertaining where it will not fail to impress. Marrying traditional and modern is often difficult to achieve but
Vera Wang Venato Imperial achieves this with style. Based on the natural beauty of marble, Vera Wang has created a looked honed in the very rock of time and made it perfect for contemporary urban living. The third new dinner service launched at the start of 2017 is
Vera Wang Pointilliste. This ultra modern design is inspired by Pointillism, a post Impressionist technique of painting using distinct individual dots to create an image. In the Vera Wang Pointilliste Collection the pattern is almost just a suggestion of colour, tone and depth as it merely kisses the rims and edges of the individual piece. Unusual and challenging, Pointilliste is for the bold and adventurous collector, someone who enjoys the unorthadox. To compliment Vera Wang Tableware Vera has designed some additional glassware for 2017.
Vera Wang Metropolitan is a simple unfussy range of four main glasses ideal for entertaining. The simple sleek and modern silhouette will look good in any setting. The second glassware set is
Vera Wang Bande. Designed with a minimalist approach to decoration each piece in the range has a single circular cut. The Bande Collection includes four essential barware glasses, 2 decanters and a selection of vases and bowls.
