Florentine Indigo
There are few patterns that live up to the richness of Wedgwood’s Florentine Indigo characterized by an ornate border intricately detailed with mystical creatures and fantastical flora and set against the clarity of white, fine bone china. The new Indigo colour, with its soft pale blue background, creates a stylish, feminine collection. A black line has been used throughout the range adding to the sophisticated character of this pattern. The gilders paint the black line by hand onto every piece, carefully tracing the shape of the rims, the base and the handle. This prestige range is produced in Barlaston, England. Introduced in 2014 Florentine Indigo makes a great tea service offering teapot, cream, sugar bowl, teacups and saucers. The inclusion of both a 27cm dinner plate and 20cm side plate makes the collection even more flexible. The red floral motif which appears in the centre of the plates and on the lid of the teapot and sugar bowl adds a splash of unexpected colour to this elegant collection. Made from fine bone china, Florentine Indigo may have its roots in a more elegant and sophisticated era but being both microwave and dishwasher safe it is ready to withstand all the demands of the 20th century.
