Arthur Price Vintage
What could be more British than afternoon tea. Arthur Price’s Vintage range offers you everything you need to serve either “Low Tea” or “High Tea”. The tradition of taking afternoon tea grew in popularity during the start of the 19th century when tea consumption grew rapidly. Said to have been started by the 7th Duchess of Bedford, high or low tea depended on the height of the table on which it was served. The upper classes would take low tea, a light snack before a fashionable promenade around Hyde Park, followed later by an evening meal. The lower and working classes would take high tea, a more substantial meal with sandwiches and cakes and would often be their final meal of the day. To recreate the gentile atmosphere of low tea but also to include all the utensils to serve high tea, Arthur Price have launched the Vintage Collection. Based on a cutlery design, Old English, which dates back to the 1700’s it is characterised by the curved pistol handle. Each piece in the Arthur Price Vintage range comes attractively gift boxed and makes a fantastic present. Made from the finest quality 18:10 stainless steel all items are dishwasher safe and are guaranteed for 25years normal use.
