Waterford Crystal Irish Lace
Waterford Crystal Irish lace Collections pays homage to the Lace making industry established in Ireland in the 1700s. Originally based in Dublin it was promoted to the upper classes by Lady Arabella Denny and soon became a luxury which was much sought after to decorate elaborate wedding gowns, christening robes and vestments. Unfortunately the lace was made often out of necessity and its manufacture by women and children in Ireland kept many families alive especially during the potato famine of 1840. The Waterford’s Irish Lace Collection is woven with fine crystal cuts, this collection is a sparkling celebration of an artistic tradition. The complex pattern of diamond cuts exudes sparkle, fan cuts and crisscross wedge cuts celebrate the artistry of lace making. The glasses in the Irish Lace Collection are decorated in three distinct bands each separate by a ring. The stemware including champagne flutes, red wine glasses, white wine glasses, tumblers and hiballs are all available as gift boxed pairs. The range also includes barware including an ice bucket and jug and four different vases and bowl.
