Waterford Crystal Colleen
Drawing from its rich Irish Heritage, Waterford’s Colleen is named after the Gaelic word for a young girl often used in many Irish ballads. Distinctive in its olive and diamond cuts; Colleen is a striking collection of classic, stylish pieces that resonate with all the tradition, authenticity and heritage of Waterford. Colleen has the richness of panelled walls and opulent interiors – there is a special Luminescence to this cut. The intricate diamond cutting offset by gracefully fluted ovals, with a close diamond pattern on the buttoned stem. This is one of the most richly cut of all Waterford Crystal suites. Olives are cut in the crystal using the smooth surface of a carved wheel. The cutter carves out an oval in the crystal similar to the shape of the fruit for which it is named. The Colleen suite complements the soft lines of Olives with a series of closely cut symmetrically lines arranged to give a diamond-like appearance. The depth of this cut contributes to the unique brilliance of Waterford Crystal. It is one of the more advanced cut types the apprentice cutter must master. Waterford Crystal Colleen offers a complete suite of stemware including both standard and tall variations in the flute, goblet and claret glass. In addition there is also a range of Waterford Crystal Colleen 60th anniversary
celebrating 60 years of Colleen at Waterford.
